Sandra M. Johnson, MD, FAAD
Sandra Marchese Johnson received her certification from the American Board of Dermatology in 2000, 2010 and 2020. She was raised in northeast Ohio, graduating from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in 1996.
After residency at UAMS, she served as the UAMS Director of Dermatology Clinical Trials and supervisor of cosmetic training for dermatology residents. She has 3 patents, co-authored a book about warts, participated in more than100 clinical trials, and published more than 100 scientific articles. She is on faculty at UAMS where she received the excellence in Education Award. She enjoys teaching at the Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine.
She enjoys interacting with the media, both locally and nationally. She has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, Shape, Prevention, Parents, and Good Housekeeping. She is a past president of the Arkansas Dermatologic Society. Dr. Sandy is active in the American Academy of Dermatology for which she has received a presidential citation. She has served on the Laser Safety Committee for the Arkansas State Medical Board. Dr Sandy loves partnering with patients/people in the clinic and advocating for people outside of the clinic locally as well as nationally with the American Academy of Dermatology Association and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery for which she has been awarded a “top advocate”.
She is a Shining Star recipient from the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce. Dr Sandy isa graduate of Leadership Fort Smith and has been awarded the Leadership Fort Smith Health Care Award. She has served on the Board of Directors and for the Fort Smith Chamber of Commerce and the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce. She has served on multiple community boards including the Board of Advisors for Mercy Hospital and the Board of Visitors for the University of Arkansas Fort Smith. Dr Sandy is the 2025 Chair for the Fort Smith Chamber of Commerce.
